The Prime Minister’s back down on poker machine reform and on her agreement with Andrew Wilkie is shameful. The Prime Minister has failed the thousands of problem gamblers in Australia and their families, and she has tacitly thrown her support behind the clubs who make most of their money at the expense of those Australians who can least afford it. The Prime Minister’s version of reform is no reform at all for there is no guarantee that it will extend beyond the ACT trial.
It seems that the Prime Minister only cares about her own self-interests, pandering to those who can further her own political ambitions rather than working for the best interests of the country.
