I had the opportunity to see the BBC Panorama Episode on Scientology recently. Why anyone would get involved with this cult and be conned out of thousands of dollars is hard to understand. Although maybe it is not so hard to understand. People who get involved with Scientology are probably looking for something that is missing from their life. It is unfortunate that they find Scientology, which takes advantage of them, brainwashes them, and then cleans them out of everything they own.

It reminds me of the Nigerian scam… make just one more payment to receive enlightenment. I know that there is not a pot of money waiting for me in Nigeria, just as I also know that I haven’t won the Spanish/Yahoo lottery. I also know that I will not be free of the “negative” aspects of my life by doing these so called courses at a Scientology “training” centre.   

If you are offered a “free personality test” outside a Scientology storefront (as I was once) then run away. It is not worth exposing yourself to these people and being caught up in the cult of Scientology.
